Wemel Wood is proud to be the world’s first to introduce a series of 100% recyclable thermowood outlets, switches and surrounding frames. The raw material, thermowood, is produced entirely without chemicals, making it an exceptionally eco-friendly choice. We collaborated with Wemel Wood in both the innovatsiooniosak and product development programs.
As part of the innovatsiooniosak, a round-shaped product series using oak material was designed and developed. The drawback of this series was the inability to produce a “blind” cover.
The product development process included:
- material selection consulting
- material testing
- creation of 3D models
- creation of technical drawings
- development of processing technology
The goal of participating in the product development program was to develop the technology and methodology for finishing wall surface outlets and switches made from intensively processed thermowood. It was necessary to find a suitable finishing material that meets the conditions set by the client.
The product development process included:
- selection of finishing materials through testing
- development of finishing technology
- UV tests
- abrasion resistance tests
- chemical tests
- climate chamber tests
- finishing of the product series
